The Aero Club of Southern Tasmania is constituted as "A Company limited by Guarantee under the Corporations Act".
This means that:
a) It has a constitution laying down the structure of the club and its rules and regulations.
b) It is a non profit organisations that can not distribute any profits to members.
c) It is run by a board of directors (ie committee) for the benefit of the members.
d) Members are limited in liability to an amount not exceeding their membership fee.

The board comprises a President or Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and a number of other club members as elected or appointed by a general meeting of the club.
