Massive Makeover Spring Clean

Top  Previous  Next

Mark Nichols spurred us all along a couple of months ago by suggesting that we have a big spring cleanup of the club house and shed. Under Marks' direction, a willing band of club members did a complete rework of our premises. What a difference it has made! This has been done at minimal cost with volunteer labour from club members and much of the materials being donated. Mark even managed to get a job lot of excellent carpet as a donation.

With thanks to all helpers, and a special thanks to Mark without whose efforts none of this would have got done.

We are indeed fortunate that many club members have the skills and enthusiasm to do jobs like this for the club.

As the makeover progressed more jobs popped up and it became obvious the next day would be needed. Volunteers, without being asked, put their hands up and said they would be in on Sunday to finish up.  As the carpet laying progressed volunteers were still coming to the clubrooms right up to Thursday to help shift fittings and the new furniture.

Volunteers gave their time, use of their own equipment and donated some fittings as well.  There was a good take-up of donations from members who could not make it on the day. The Aero Club received one generous donation of $100. a few $50's in there as well as the rest of the cash.  We thank all the members who made cash contributions.

The next time you are at the Clubrooms (and you want to be part of the makeover effort) just drop a cash donation at the front office.  Or use your credit card and phone in a donation towards the consumables used in the upgrade.  Your generosity will be greatly appreciated by all members of the Aero Club.

Cheers
